Border Route Trail map is for sale at Rockwood and online through the North Country Trail Association.
The South Lake Trail begins at our doorstep and travels 3.5 miles north to the shores of South Lake along the Canadian Border, connecting to the Border Route Trail as well as several loops and side trails. Winter
Some of the hiking trails are available for hiking and snowshoeing, please check with the closest lodge to your planned route.
Cross country skiing is available just across the lake on the Banadad X-Ski trail, but you’ll need a Minnesota Skate Ski Pass plus a BWCAW day pass.
Both Bearskin and Golden Eagle offer world class cross country skiing.
